ISIS terrorists reportedly hacked a Bangladeshi professor to death for "calling to atheism" on Saturday. The professor's daughter, however, insists that he was not an atheist, the BBC reports.

"We still don't know what was the reason. Maybe [a] misunderstanding, maybe something else. It's still a maybe for me and it's still a maybe for my family," she said, adding that investigators are still working on the case.

Police have suggested that he was targeted because he promoted cultural activities. A student member of an Islamist organization has been detained for questioning.
