FBI Director James Comey has announced that his agency spent more than $1.3 million in order to break into the iPhones used by one of the San Bernardino attackers, Reuters reports.
Comey noted that this is more money than that total he will make in his next seven years and four months as director.
This is the largest sum for a hack that has ever been publicized. The previous record was $1 million, which the information security company Zerodium spent, also to break into phones.
