A 24-year-old female Israeli hiker is currently being rescued from the mountains in eastern Nepal, after beginning to suffer from symptoms of altitude sickness. The hiker sent a message to the Phoenix insurance company, explaining that “I am not breathing well; I am having a hard time walking. I think that I have pneumonia. Call for a helicopter.”
The Israeli, currently a three-hour flight away from the capital city of Kathmandu, is expected to be transported to a hospital in the capital. At this time, it is unclear whether the stormy weather conditions will allow the helicopter to land.
