The US army has successfully used the Iron Dome system to shoot down a drone, during a test of the Israeli-made project.
i24 News reports that the test was carried out in coordination with US defense contractor Raytheon.
The US is looking at several options in order to expand its air defense capabilities though the Tamir interceptor, which is part of Iron Dome, is the only one that has been proven in combat.
