Defense Minister Moshe Ya'alon (Likud) has commented on the Political-Security Cabinet's approval of a new multi-year plan for the IDF.

"This is a very meaningful step for the IDF and the security system, after years in which we acted without a multi-year plan. Approving the plan was critical for the State of Israel's security, and our ability to act clearly in a crisis," he said.

Ya'alon added: "The plan will allow the IDF and the security administration to build a training graph for both active duty and reserve forces. They will also be able to carry out a purchasing plan and obtain advanced equipment for the air, water and land, and to retain quality members."
