The US city of Boulder, Colorado, is considering pairing with Shechem, which proponents refer to by the Arabic name of Nablus, Associated Press reports.
The move is being pushed by the Boulder-Nablus Sister City Project, which claims making Boulder and Shechem sister cities would help end misconceptions about Palestinians.
Opponents, however, argue that it would be a partisan step and that Shechem is a particularly poor choice, as it is known for being a hotbed of anti-Israeli activity.
