Professor Aviad Hacohen, Dean of the Sha’arei Mishpat Academic College, responded on Tuesday afternoon t the Attorney General’s decision to reject former Minister Binyamin Ben-Eliezer’s request to delay criminal proceedings against him, due to his medical state.
“Despite identifying with Mr. Ben-Eliezer’s personal pain, the Attorney General’s decision does not differ from similar cases that took place in the past… So long as there is a ruling based on facts, according to which Mr. Ben-Eliezer is fit to stand trial from a medical perspective… there is no reason to delay proceedings.”
