The Arab League condemned statements made on Sunday by Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu on Israel’s hold of the Golan Heights, claiming that the PM’s statements were provocative declarations aimed at thwarting international peace efforts.
A statement issued by the Arab League explained that “Netanyahu’s declaration that Israel will not retreat from the Golan Heights is a move that escalates the situation and is an attack against the principles of international law. The Golan belongs to the Arabs and the Syrian national has the rights to sovereignty over it.”
