The European Parliament (EUP) has denounced Poland's government for allegedly threatening democracy and the rule of law, Associated Press reports.

The European Union has been pushing the Polish government to resolve its conflict with the country's legislature. In particular the EUP says that the government should end its block against the court.

Today's (Wednesday) resolution declares that the actions taken by the government and president caused the "effective paralysis of the Constitutional Tribunal which poses a danger to democracy, human rights and the rule of law."
