Former President Shimon Peres refused to meet with extreme rightwing Austrian leader Heinz-Christian Strache, who arrived in Israel n Monday, Haaretz reports.
A senior official working at the former President’s office indicated that, as per the Foreign Ministry’s recommendation, the Austrian leader represents an extreme rightwing party that Israel does not have ties with, and that Strache should not be awarded legitimization by meeting with Peres.
