Honenu CEO Shmuel Meidad responded to the arrest for rightwing activists suspected of attacking Palestinian Arabs.
“To my dismay, today it is enough to label a case as dealing with security-related crimes in order to prevent detainees from accessing their basic rights: meeting with legal counsel. Sometimes the suspects are tortured during questioning like they are the enemy. I fear for the detainees’ wellbeing,” he said.
