MK Eyal Ben-Reuven (Zionist Union) has praised the IDF prosecutor's decision to close the investigation into the Binyamin Brigade leader for shooting a terrorist who had thrown a rock at his vehicle.

"I offer my congratulations on the Chief Prosecutor's decision to close the file on the Binyamin Brigade commander, Colonel Israel Shomer. The decision came after a fundamental and deep investigation into the circumstances of the incident," said MK Ben-Reuven. "Sadly, irresponsible statements against the commander have been made in the past."

He continued: "My law, which passed its first reading about two weeks ago, would defend IDF soldiers and commanders and would prevent the publication of details about them while an investigation is still underway. It's too bad that Colonel Shomer was not able to enjoy the benefits of this law. I fully hope that he will continue advancing as an IDF commander."
