The Israel Security Agency (ISA, also known as the Shin Bet or Shabak) offered a security briefing to the Cabinet today (Sunday).
The ISA explained that the number of terror attacks has declined recently, largely due to Israel's increased security efforts. Hamas has tried to increase its actions but Israeli security forces have foiled the group's suicide attacks and abductions.
Most of the attacks are caused by isolated youths. Some attack for nationalistic purposes, but the majority are motivated by personal reasons such as financial or personal difficulties.
In general, Palestinians are coming to the conclusion that escalation will not help them.
