A pregnant woman and three children were among 18 civilians killed Tuesday when Syrian fighters shelled a Kurdish-majority neighborhood in the northern city of Aleppo, according to the Britain-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR).

The monitoring group said 70 people, including 30 children, were also wounded in the attack. The attack was mounted by Jabhat al-Nusra and Ahrar al-Sham, and is described as a violation of the ceasefire that was negotiated February 27.
