MK Shuli Muaelm-Refaeli responded to the Parole Board’s decision to deny parole to former President Moshe Katzav.
“I applaud the Parole Board’s decision not to release Moshe Katzav. A man who never expressed regret for his severe actions… does not deserve any leniencies regarding his sentence. The court sentenced him and there are no shortcuts. Besides for that, Moshe Katzav entered prison as a public figure and this decision gives off a clear public statement: public figures are not above the law.”
