Former West German Foreign Minister Hans-Dietrich Genscher has passed away at the age of 89. He died in his home, while his family was at his side.
Genscher was closely involved in the 1990 reunification between East and West Germany. He served as Foreign Minister, for both West Germany and the united Germany, for a total of 18 years.
