The Chief Ashkenazi Rabbi of Jerusalem, Rabbi Aryeh Stern, has ruled that residents living in the neighborhood of Ramot should celebrate Purim on Thursday, Adar 15.
This is the same day that the rest of the city celebrates the holiday.
Israel's two leading Sephardic rabbis, Rabbi Yitzchak Yoseph, the Sephardic Chief Rabbi of Israel, and Rabbi Shlomo Amar, the Sephardic Chief Rabbi of Jerusalem, have each given opposing answers to the question.
