Police have arrested former Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva as part of an expansive fraud investigation, BBC reports. The case, called Operation Car Wash, revolves around the national oil company Petrobras and involves charges of corruption and money laundering.
Lula, who finished his term as president in 2011, denies the accusations of corruption.
