North Korea shot off several projectiles today (Thursday), shortly after the United Nations Security Council approved stronger sanctions against the dictatorship and South Korea's President Park Guen-hye promised to "end [Kim Jong Un's] tyranny."

Reuters reports that the Defense Ministry in Seoul is verifying whether the projectiles were missiles or artillery.

Tension has been rising between North and South Korea as Pyongyang carries out more and more provocative moves. In January it claimed that it had successfully tested a hydrogen bomb and, in February, it launched a new long-range missile.
