A proposed law promoted by MK Aliza Lavie was approved in second and third readings on Monday. The law establishes that women, who give birth from as early as 22 gestational weeks, will be eligible for maternity leave, even in the case of stillbirths.
The new mothers will be eligible to receive all National Insurance benefits, including birth grants, maternity pay and maternity leave.
