Head of the agricultural lobby MK Eitan Broshi (Zionist Union) has asked Finance Committee head Eitan Cabel (Zionist Union) to call for an immediate discussion.
Broshi says that he is concerned about the Treasury's intention to allow duty-free imports, which he claims would severely harm Israeli farmers and agriculture.
"The move would be a severe blow to agriculture and agricultural produce, which could lead to the collapse of numerous economies. Despite the Treasury's statements that it intends to compensate the farmers, we have not yet been informed of a clear means for compensation," MK Broshi wrote.
