The Iraqi Ministry of the Environment has announced that "highly dangerous" radioactive material has been found near a gas station in the southern town of Zubair, Reuters reports.
A spokesperson says that it is not damaged and does not pose a threat to the public. However, he added that ISIS would have been able to use it for a weapon, had they gotten a hold of it.
The material uses radioactive rays to check for material flaws in gas and oil pipelines. It was stolen from a US-owned storage facility in November.
