New Zealand Prime Minister John Key says that his country is ready to take in some of the refugees that Australia has sent to detention camps in Micronesia.
The offer came after a fierce discussion over 267 asylum seekers whom Australia intends to send to camps on the Pacific island of Nauru for medical treatment. The asylum seekers have refused to leave Australia, claiming that the country's refugee policy is illegal.
