Talks between Israel and the US regarding the new sum of defense aid have stumbled into some difficulties in light of significant gaps between the sides vis-à-vis how much aid Israel should receive each year, Haaretz reports.

An Israeli official was quoted by the newspaper as saying that during the most recent round of talks, one week ago in Jerusalem, the US agreed to increase defense aid by roughly 400 million dollars for a period of one year. Israel had expected a more significant increase in aid, by roughly one to two billion dollars for each year.
