The Iranian judiciary has announced that it has arrested several dual citizens, mostly on charges of espionage.
"We have several dual citizens in jail. Their charges are mostly the same [as Rezaian's]," a spokesperson told Fars news agency. Jason Rezaian is a journalist with the Washington Post who was convicted of spying against Iran in a closed trial.
The first of the latest group to receive wide-spread attention was Bahman Daroshafaei. Daroshafaei, an Iranian-British journalist who used to work with the BBC, was arrested in Tehran last week. His family says that they have not been made aware of any charges being laid against him.
