Tension is growing between Germany and Russia over a 13-year-old girl who claims that she was raped by immigrants in Berlin.

The teenager, whom Russian media call "Liza," disappeared on her way to school two weeks ago. When she resurfaced, she told police that three foreign men had taken her to an apartment and raped her. Prosecutors and police, however, say that there was no evidence of forcible rape and that, at most, there may have been a case of statutory rape.

The case has gathered attention in Russia, where Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov claims that German authorities have "hidden" information on the incident. He added that "We are now working with her lawyer. He is working with her family, with our embassy."

German Foreign Minister Frank-Walter Steinmeier has responded by accusing Russia of attempting to "inflame" Germans over refugees.
