US scientists have told the BBC that a vaccine against ZIka may not be ready for tests for another two years. It may take a further eight years for it to be available to the general public.
Zika is believed to cause severe brain damage or death in unborn children.
Cases of Zika have been diagnosed in more than 20 countries. It is hitting Brazil particularly hard, with thousands of people infected.
