The Knesset Finance Committee has approved the criteria for the funding of religious councils for 2015. The approval came after a discussion between Committee head Moshe Gafni (UTJ), the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of the Interior, and the Ministry of Religious Services.
In light of the fact that fiscal year 2015 passed without obtaining updated standards, local authorities were forced to budget their religious councils according to the 2014 standards.
