A Haifa court has ruled that an employee of the Magic Carpet manpower company who was rejected from a job due to her country of origin is to be compensated with 50,000 shekels ($13,000 US).
The employee, who worked as a cleaner and was assigned to an air conditioning garage. During her first day's orientation, the wife of one of the garage owners insisted that she was unwilling to employ an Ethiopian cleaner.
The CEO of Magic Carpet called the wife to appeal, but was unable to change her mind.
