Sephardic Chief Rabbi of Israel, Rabbi Yitzhak Yosef, proclaimed in the Knesset that the State of Israel is “First and foremost Jewish, and only afterwards is democratic. This is how we must uphold the unique Jewish character in the State.”
Chief Rabbi Yosef’s declaration was made during the afternoon prayer service at the Knesset.
