Culture and Sport Minister Miri Regev (Likud) spoke at the funeral for Dafna Meir, saying, "I came here today to stand alongside you, a woman whose devotion is to life. I wish that I could have stood by you in your last fight against a vile murderer who slaughtered a mother in front of her children."
Regev continued: "You are a symbol of life. Against you stood a vile murderer. This was not regular terror or an extreme religious ideology. In the name of the government I have come to ask your forgiveness. We were not able to protect you."
