Defense Minister Moshe Ya’alon met on Thursday morning with US Deputy Defense Secretary Robert Work, who is currently visiting Israel.
Work said during that meeting that “My arrival here is a further proof of how deep the ties are between America and Israel. The US has always stood by Israel’s side and we will continue to stand by Israel. Defense Secretary Carter, who asked me to send his regards, knows how deep the changes are in the Middle East and how they affect Israel.”
“For us, Israel is a founding block in our policies and strategies in the Middle East. We will always stand by you and your safety is very important to us.”
