The naval commander of Iran's Revolutionary Guards told state television Wednesday it probably "won't take long" for 10 US sailors detained in Iranian territory in the Gulf to be freed, AFP reports.
Admiral Ali Fadavi said investigations had concluded "that this trespassing was not hostile or for spying purposes" and he was waiting to receive "the required order, which probably will be their release."
"After investigations, it was revealed that the entry of American Marines into Iranian territory was due to a broken navigation system and the issue is being resolved," the admiral said.
