Knesset advances bill to make disability funds tax exempt

The Knesset has approved the second and third readings of a bill submitted by MKs Uri Maklev (UTJ) and Moshe Gafni (UTJ) to make the money given to blind and disabled citizens in compensation for their injuries tax exempt up to a sum of 300,000 shekels ($76,000 US).

The proposal also covers interest paid on the same money.

The bill initially covered sums up to 262,320 shekels ($66,658 US).
