White House Chief of Staff Denis McDonough has called a conversation between Mexican drug lord Joaquin "El Chapo" Guzman and actor Sean Penn "maddening."
"I will tell you this braggadocious action about how much heroin he sends around the world, including the United States, is maddening," McDonough told CNN.
Guzman escaped from prison in July and was recaptured last Friday. During his time on the run he gave an interview to Penn, which was published in Rolling Stone. During their talk, Guzman claimed to be the largest supplier of illegal drugs in the world.
