White House Chief of Staff Denis McDonough has stated that President Barack Obama does not intend to publicly support any candidate between the Democratic candidates.
"We'll do exactly what has been done in the past," McDonough told NBC's "Meet the Press." He added Obama will be "out there" once a single candidate is chosen.
The leading figures in the race are former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and Vermont senator Bernie Sanders.
