Princess Ashraf Pahlavi, the twin sister of former Iranian Shah Mohammad Reza Pahlavi, has died at the age of 96.
The late Shah's son, Reza Pahlavi, announced his aunt's death on Facebook, without stating the cause.
After the 1979 Iranian Revolutionary overthrew the Shah, Princess Ashraf remained a well-known and outspoken figure. She divided her time between homes in New York, Paris, and Monte Carlo.
