Deputy Mayor of Jeruasalem, Dov Kalmonovich, said on Tuesday during an open public debate on the proposed “Sabbath Law,” that “The Sabbath is Jewish; we are in the State of Israel, not Russia.”
“The court and the merchants are violating the status quo, which necessitates legislation to attend to the existing problem,” Kalmonovich added.
