The Minister of Media Affairs in Bahrain has announced that his country is cutting off its diplomatic relations with Iran.
Bahrain, a tiny island nation in the Persian Gulf, is closely tied with its neighbor Saudi Arabia. Both countries are ruled by Sunni royal families, though Bahrain has a Shia majority.
Saudi Arabia similarly ended its diplomatic relations with Iran on Sunday.
