A man and two young children drowned when their car fell off a wharf in Australia, Associated Press reports. Authorities believe that the man is the children's father, and that he may have intentionally driven into the water.

Eyewitnesses say they saw a station wagon speeding through, and then off of the wharf in southern Australia. The water in the location is 30 meters deep.

Police divers were not able to reach the bodies until about six hours later. "We are not treating it as an accidental driving-off-the-wharf," said a spokesperson.
