Terrorists set off bombs at two Sunni mosques near Baghdad. Separately, a muezzin was shot and killed in central Iraq.

Speaking about one mosque bombing, a police captain told AFP, "After we heard the explosion, we went to its source and found that IEDs (improvised explosive devices) had been planted in the mosque." Nearby residents claimed that the attack was perpetrated by people in military uniforms.

Official statements claim that the second bombing also involved people wearing military uniforms.

No one has taken responsibility for any of the three incidents.
