One lane on Highway 1 westbound near the Hemed interchange was opened for traffic on Thursday evening, after having been blocked earlier when rocks and sand fell on the road.
The second lane is still blocked and heavy traffic is being felt in the area. Police are asking drivers to use alternate routes.
