Prof. Aviad Hacohen, Dean of the “Shaarei Meida Umishpat” academic center, and a religious man himself, staunchly opposed the Education Ministry’s removal of Dorit Rabinyan’s book from school curriculum for its alleged encouragement of assimilation.
“Aside from in truly extreme cases, and this is not one of those cases, the Education Ministry must not become a censor. Assimilation and intermarriage must be dealt with via dialogue, nt by banning books. Any ban only intensifies the echo of the book and its contents.”
