Science Minister Ofir Akunis (Likud) has signed a joint statement with his Chinese counterpart Wan Gang in Beijing. The statement primarily dealt with joint investment in research.

According to the agreement, the Israeli Ministry of Science will invest more than a million dollars, while the Chinese Ministry will invest about $5 million in projects involving both countries.

During the meeting, Akunis said: "We are two ancient people - with a common future. I came here to deepen the cooperation between the two countries in science and technology, in order to advance groundbreaking developments and research."
