French Prime Minister Manuel Valls says that, despite the National Front's (FN) poor showing in yesterday's (Sunday) regional elections, the extreme right still presents a danger.

"There is no place for a feeling of victory. The large support that [Marine] Le Pen's party received requires that the government pay attention," said Prime Minister Valls.

FN was founded by current head Marine Le Pen's father, Jean-Marie.Under Jean-Marie's leadership the party was associated with anti-Semitism, though Marine has tried to change its direction and now focuses on an anti-immigration stance.
