Shaker Aamar, the last UK citizen to have been imprisoned in Guantanamo Bay, has publicly come out against extremists, saying that they "have to right to live in the UK."
He made his comment in an interview with the Daily Mail, and specifically mentioned that public murder of Fusilier Lee Rigby. "You cannot just kill anybody" he said.
Aamar spent 14 years in the military prison at Guantanamo Bay on suspicion of having led a Taliban unit, though he was never charged with a crime.
