Internal Security Minister Gilad Erdan on Thursday evening responded to the plea bargain signed by MK Hanin Zoabi, under which she will admit to insulting a public servant but will not be convicted of racist incitement and threats.
“About a year and a half ago, MK Hanin Zoabi Arab verbally attacked Arab police officers and said, among other things that ‘they must be spit on’. Why? Because they are Arabs who serve in the Israel Police,” Erdan said.
“MK Zoabi's actions are serious and inciting against Arabs who serve in the Israel Police, fight crime and traffic accidents and save lives. She has proven once again that Israeli Arabs do not interest her, only support for violence and terrorism against the state. I hope her words of incitement are viewed harshly in court and that the judges will slap her with a severe punishment.”
