The State Prosecution’s Criminal Division appealed the Supreme Court’s light sentencing of an Israeli citizen who joined that “Islamic State” (ISIS) terrorist organization and fought in Syria and in Iraq before returning to Israel. The terrorist was sentenced to 3.5 years in prison.
The State’s appeal claimed that the sentence is ridiculously lenient and does not suit the severity of the terrorist’s actions.
