A Saudi Arabian court is reexamining the case of a Sri Lankan woman who has been sentenced to death for adultery.
Sri Lanka's deputy foreign minister, Harsha de Silva, told the country's parliament that an appeals court has accepted the Sri Lankan foreign ministry's petition to reopen the case.
De Silva noted that the ministry will pay the legal expenses, but noted that "We see this as a victory" and that they will "make the fullest efforts in order to get this sentence changed."
