A joint operation between the IDF and the General Security Service (GSS, also known as the Shabak or Shin Bet) led to the arrest of Basil Munir Mahmad Abu Aliya in Ramallah.
Twenty-six-year-old Abu Aliya is believed to have been behind an attempted stabbing in October at Tapuah Junction. Authorities say that he was not the only person involved.
Abu Aliya had suspected that security forces were looking for him and so had been hiding in a Ramallah hotel.
